Between book and e-book: Tribute to Maurizio Vivarelli

Maurizio Vivarelli is professor of Library Science at the Department of Historical Studies of the University of Turin since 2007. Specific topics of his research concern the space and identity of the public library, with particular reference to the development and managemente of collections, the history of reading, the evolution of bibliography in the digital environment. He is author of many publications, including Un’idea di biblioteca. Lo spazio bibliografico della biblioteca pubblica (2010) and Le dimensioni della bibliografia. Scrivere di libri al tempo della rete (2013). He edited Lo spazio della biblioteca. Culture e pratiche del progetto tra architettura e biblioteconomia (2013); A partire dallo spazio. Osservare, pensare, interpretare la biblioteca; The Identity of the Contemporary Public Library. Principles and Methods of Analysis, Evaluation, Interpretation (2016, with Margarita Pérez Pulido); Le reti della lettura. Tracce, modelli, pratiche del social reading (with Chiara Faggiolani). He is part of the scientific committee of “AIB studi”, “Biblioteche oggi”, “Biblioteche oggi Trends”, “Culture del testo e del documento”; he is member of the SISBB. Società Italiana di Scienze Bibliografiche e Biblioteconomiche. He Participates in the research center of the University of Turin Medihum, operating in the field of Digital Humanities.
